Since this is an Internet-based system, the keystrokes and mouse actions that you use to get around on any Web site work the same way in the MLS. Here are some helpful tips for getting around in the MLS.
Home page -- The Home page displays as soon as you log on to the MLS (after you read any notices that might display). A convenient starting place for your MLS activity, the Home page shows you: a summary of your tasks, market statistics, your top three saved Hotsheets, counts of your listings, any newly matched listings for your prospects, and more. Most items are linked, so click to jump directly to a particular item.
Navigation bar -- The gray navigation bar that displays above every page gives you easy access to every function in the MLS. If you click “Search,” the Search menu lists every type of search, so you can instantly jump to the desired area of the software. The other items in the navigation bar work the same way; just click an item to quickly move around the MLS.
To move up and down in a page -- Use the scroll bar (by dragging the button along the right edge of the window), or press the Page Up and Page Down keys, in order to view all the information on a page.
To go back -- To return to the previous page, click the Back button on your browser toolbar. On some forms you'll see a text link or button for the Back function, so use that instead where available.
To move between fields -- Press the Tab key on your keyboard to move the cursor to the next field. Press Shift+Tab to move the cursor back to the previous field.
